About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a part- time Occupational Therapist to join our dedicated team to cover maternity relief.  The position will be predominantly based in the acute services team. The successful applicant will ideally have previous work experience in an acute hospital setting. Experience with Oncology patients and Medical Aged Care patients would be an advantage.  Hours can be negotiated to provide flexibility to balance work and family commitments. Some of the key responsibilities to include (but not limited to)

  • To provide Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention within designated caseload
  • Conducts appropriate assessments and documents with regard to performance components (physical, cognitive, perceptual, sensory, social, psychological and behavioural changes)
  • Participates in multidisciplinary patient review meetings and liaises with other team members in coordinating treatment programs

Essential Criteria:

  • Current AHPRA Registration Occupational Therapy
  • 3 years post graduate experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant Occupational Therapy assessment and treatment intervention approaches and the ability to plan, implement and evaluate programs
  • Proven interpersonal skills and the ability to work autonomously and  as a member of a multidisciplinary  team
  • Possesses effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven time management skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement
  • Demonstrated flexibility to allow provision of OT Services throughout a variety of clinical areas within a hospital.
  • Current AHPRA Registration Occupational Therapy

Desirable Criteria

  • Demonstrated experience with oncology and medical aged care patients
  • Demonstrated experience in Lymphoedema management
  • Splinting
