The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists for a hardworking, highly motivated sterilising technician or perioperative nurse looking to step into a management role as the CSSD Manager. This is a permanent full time role.
Reporting directly to the Perioperative Services Manager, you will:
- Work alongside the perioperative management team and executives to provide and efficient service within the department and greater hospital
- Ensure the smooth running of the operating lists
- Ensure high standards are maintained whilst adhering to all required legislation and guidelines
- Demonstrate your in-depth knowledge of the AS/NZS 5369:2023 and how these regulations impact the sterilisation process and procedures
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:
- Experience as a sterilising technician with a certificate III in sterilisation services OR experience nurse with current AHPRA registration
- Previous perioperative experience is preferred, though not essential
- Excellent time management and organization skills with attention to detail
- Strong, collaborative interpersonal communication skills with well-developed verbal and written skills
- Ability to work in a busy environment and lead a team through changing priorities and work demands
- Demonstrated ability to nurture and develop team members with a focus on education, training and skill based learning
- Ability to effectively plan and manage the department with a key focus on financial, human and capital resources
- Demonstrated problem solving and conflict resolution skills
- Approachable and friendly attitude
- IT Skills including the use of computerized reporting systems
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant infection control standards and sterilisation guidelines including AS/NZS 5369:2023
