The Opportunity

Part of the Learning & Organisational Development Team, the National Learning team are responsible for building the capability of our workforce by ensuring that our people have the skills and capabilities required to perform effectively in their roles and to build successful careers.

As part of the National L&OD team, the Learning Specialist works on agile learning projects to scope requirements, develop the approach for learning initiatives and solutions and provide access to best practice learning experiences.

​With deep adult learning and consulting expertise, they partner with stakeholders, learning Leads and learning designers to assess learning needs, solution design and project manage the delivery of learning solutions through to implementation. These learning solutions span a broad range of subject matter including compliance, clinical, leadership, digital, customer service and soft skill development.

 

Essential 

  • ​​​​Demonstrated experience in Learning & Development in large, complex organisations. 
  • ​Proven ability to consult with stakeholders to understand capability gaps and engage in co-solution design. 
  • ​Strong stakeholder influencing skills with the ability to achieve mutually beneficially outcomes. 
  • ​Proven track record for delivering learning projects and initiatives in time with agreed plan. 
  • ​Strong knowledge of adult learning theory, instructional design principles, and learning technologies. 
  • ​Self-motivated with effective time management skills, including the ability to prioritise workload and deliver results. 
  • ​Commercially minded, with the ability to source a range of resourcing options to deliver on project requirements.  
  • ​Proven facilitation skills with the ability to deliver engaging learning and education content to large audiences in both face to face and virtual settings. 
  • ​Excellent oral communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to clearly articulate and present concepts and recommendations. 
  • ​Excellent written communication skills with the ability to produce a range of written documentation including briefs and learning materials. 
  • ​Proficient across the Microsoft Office suite including, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. 
  • ​Highly collaborative, with a natural desire to seek input from colleagues to develop ideas and concepts. 
  • ​A growth mindset, with a curiosity for learning and continually evolving and improving our learning solutions. 
  • ​Solution orientated, with a natural desire to find resolutions to issues.

 

Desirable

  • ​​​Ability to project manage learning solutions from concept through to implementation. 
  • ​Learning design experience with the ability to produce concept / high level design documents. 
  • ​Experience working with external vendors to source learning content and materials
