Clinical Nurse Educator – Emergency – Full Time
The Position:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced educator with demonstrated broad knowledge and clinical expertise in all areas of patient care to join our fast-paced Accident and Emergency department to support and lead our Education Team.
As one of the busiest Emergency departments in Western Australia, our department treats a truly interesting and diverse case mix and has adult and paediatric treatment bays, a resuscitation area, a short stay unit and a Mental Health Observation Area.
Working in partnership with the Clinical Nurse Manager, you will be responsible for the efficient and effective management of all emergency department nursing education and staff professional development. Ensuring that the education needs of the emergency department are met and are in line with the Emergency Department and Hospital strategic goals and intent.
Principal Responsibilities to include (but not limited to):
- Demonstrates advanced professional practice within their current role.
- Designs, implements and evaluates relevant curricular / teaching programs / resources based on best practice.
- Coordinates the development, implementation and evaluation of educational and training programs related to the areas of specialty, Hospital and Community needs.
- Coordinates and provides staff development activities for the emergency nursing team
- Provides educational leadership and consultancy for the design of educational and training programs / resources, and utilisation of effective teaching strategies within the hospital / health service
- Provides constructive and effective feedback and promotes reflective practice
What we are looking for:
Essential
- Registered with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
- Minimum of 5 years recent Emergency/Critical Care nursing experience, that demonstrates expert clinical and problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated experience in a leadership role and leading successful teams
- Advanced interpersonal, communication (written and verbal)
- knowledge of quality improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to design, implement, manage and evaluate educational programs
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of adult learning principles
Desirable
- Postgraduate certificate in Emergency/ Critical Care
- Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment.
Remuneration: On offer is base hourly rate ranging from $61.21 + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances.
