We are seeking a passionate WHS Coordinator to join our dynamic team on a permanent full-time basis.  

You will be supporting the National Safety Team at a facility level.

This is an exciting opportunity to take on a WHS role across two of our hospitals - Westmead, a 196-bed private facility, and Strathfield Private Hospital, an 84-bed facility. Both hospitals offer a comprehensive range of medical, surgical, and maternity services.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

As the WHS Coordinator, you’ll take the lead on WHS across Westmead and Strathfield Private Hospitals, working closely with the National Safety Team and the facility Executive Team to foster a strong, proactive safety culture.

 

Key responsibilities include

  • Embedding and maintaining the Ramsay safety management system, templates, and documentation.
  • Investigating incidents and implementing solutions to minimise future risks.
  • Conducting risk assessments, site audits, and workplace safety training.
  • Developing and maintaining effective safety practices.
  • Preparing and presenting safety performance reports for internal stakeholders.

 

What You’ll Bring:

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in WH&S (Minimum of a Cert IV in WH&S).
  • Experience in Work Health and Safety, preferably within the health industry or a large organisation  
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with teams at all levels.
  • A proactive and highly organised approach to managing multiple priorities.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously.
  • Excellent planning, time management, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Full Australian work rights, a current Police Check & proof of immunisation against infectious diseases
