The Opportunity
Ramsay Surgical Centres (RSC), a division of Ramsay Health Care, manages day and short-stay surgical hospitals across Australia. As we continue to grow in this specialised environment, we are seeking a Quality Co-ordinator to design and implement robust quality processes tailored to the needs of day and short-stay facilities.
This role will support existing Ramsay Surgical Centres and contribute to the commissioning of new greenfield sites under development.
The role reports to the National CEO – Ramsay Surgical Centres, with dotted line reporting to the Director of Clinical Services (DCS) and General Manager (GM) at each site. This is a standalone role with no direct reports.
What You’ll Do
In this role, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Develop a quality framework specific to the day and short-stay hospital environment.

Oversee compliance with hospital accreditation standards and promote a culture of continuous improvement.

Drive initiatives that support high-quality clinical outcomes across all sites.

Ensure adherence to all relevant regulatory, legal, and operational standards.

Create RSC-specific quality policies and audit schedules.

Provide data and reporting to assist DCSs and GMs with decision-making and presentations to the Medical Advisory Committee (MAC).

Support DCSs and GMs in promoting strong quality practice and culture.

Coordinate site-level education initiatives related to quality and compliance.

Maintain responsibility for ensuring ongoing quality compliance across the division.
Note: Some travel is required, including quarterly site visits and support during accreditation preparation when required.
What You’ll Bring
As a representative of The Ramsay Way, you’ll be collaborative, proactive, and committed to raising standards. You will also bring:
- 5+ years of experience in a peri-operative or hospital environment.
- A strong understanding of quality management systems in healthcare settings.
- Familiarity with accreditation frameworks such as NSQHS Standards.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A passion for continuous improvement and a keen eye for detail.
- Experience supporting multidisciplinary teams in fast-paced environments.
- Insight into the unique quality considerations of day and short-stay surgical services.
Note: This role includes occasional travel, including quarterly site visits and additional support during audit and accreditation periods.
