About the Role

Joining our team as a Billings Officer, you will be responsible for the daily billing to ensure the efficient and effective coordination of billing and debt collection functions for NSW North Hub.

You will liaise and communicate directly with patients, health funds, hospitals’ administration and hospitals’ management regarding patient account enquiries, in conjunction with theatre and billing staff, and Doctors rooms to ensure the accurate input of data.

 

About You

To be considered for this role, you will bring billing experience, preferably in the health industry, along with great people skills. You will be an organized individual with the ability to effectively carry out your responsibilities in a timely manner and meet strict deadlines. Great attention to detail and accurate data entry skills are vital, along with the ability to work in a team and autonomously with minimum supervision. 

 

Your Key Skills and Experience

  • Experience in hospital mainframe systems
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong computer literacy
  • Ability to complete tasks within designated timeframes

Desirable

  • Previous experience in an administrative/accounts/reception position
  • Certificate in Medical Terminology
  • Relevant health services experience
  • Knowledge of Health fund contracts and/or basic accounting processes
  • Accounts Receivable knowledge
