Position Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) or Enrolled Nurse (EN) will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care within the General Medical and Cardiology ward. This includes the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care for patients with a wide range of acute and chronic medical and cardiac conditions. The nurse will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective care delivery in alignment with hospital policies and the relevant board standards (AHPRA/NMBA in Australia).

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop person-centred care plans.
  • Provide care to patients with cardiac conditions including post-myocardial infarction, heart failure, and arrhythmias.
  • Assist with the administration of medications, including cardiac-specific therapies, and monitor patient response.
  • Accurately document clinical observations, vital signs, and nursing interventions.
  • Monitor telemetry and support patients undergoing cardiac diagnostics and procedures.
  • Educate patients and their families about their health condition, medications, and ongoing care.
  • Collaborate effectively with medical, allied health, and support staff to deliver holistic care.
  • Comply with infection control standards and workplace safety procedures.
  • Participate in audits, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing professional development.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

Registered Nurse

  • Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
  • Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent.
  • Relevant experience in acute care settings preferred (medical or cardiology experience desirable).
  • Competence in ECG interpretation and cardiac observation monitoring desirable.

 

Enrolled Nurse

  • Current registration with AHPRA as an Enrolled Nurse (Division 2).
  • Diploma of Nursing or equivalent.
  • Experience in a hospital or acute care setting desirable.
  • Medication endorsement (optional based on scope of practice).

Remuneration:

Enrolled Nurse: On offer is a base hourly rate ranging from $31.32 - $33.65 + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances. (WA gr1-gr4) [ FTE $61,896.62 - $66,492]

Registered Nurse: On offer is a full-time equivalent, base annual salary ranging from $75,436.57 - $99,268.14 + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances. (WA gr1-gr8)

Requirements
