As part of the Learning & Organisational Development Team, the National Learning team is responsible for building workforce capability by ensuring our people have the skills and competencies needed to perform effectively in their roles and develop successful careers.
The National Learning Specialist – Clinical plays a key role in designing, delivering, and evaluating clinical education programs that align with organisational goals, clinical best practice, and national compliance and accreditation standards. They lead agile learning projects by scoping requirements, shaping learning strategies, and enabling access to best practice learning experiences.
With deep expertise in adult learning and consulting, they collaborate with stakeholders, the Clinical Learning Lead, and Learning Designers to assess learning needs, design solutions, and manage the end-to-end delivery of learning initiatives. These solutions span a broad range of subject matter, including compliance, clinical practice, leadership, digital capability, customer service, and soft skill development.
Skills and Requirements
• Minimum 5 years of clinical experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or education-focused role.
• Demonstrated experience in Learning & Development in large, complex organisations.
• Proven ability to consult with stakeholders to understand capability gaps and engage in co-solution design.
• Strong stakeholder influencing skills with the ability to achieve mutually beneficially outcomes.
• Proven track record for delivering learning projects and initiatives in time with agreed plan.
• Strong knowledge of adult learning theory, instructional design principles, and learning technologies.
• Self-motivated with effective time management skills, including the ability to prioritise workload and deliver results.
• Commercially minded, with the ability to source a range of resourcing options to deliver on project requirements.
• Proven facilitation skills with the ability to deliver engaging learning and education content to large audiences in both face-to-face and virtual settings.
• Excellent oral communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to clearly articulate and present concepts and recommendations.
• Excellent written communication skills with the ability to produce a range of written documentation including briefs and learning materials.
• Proficient across the Microsoft Office suite including, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Highly collaborative, with a natural desire to seek input from colleagues to develop ideas and concepts.
• A growth mindset, with a curiosity for learning and continually evolving and improving our learning solutions.
• Solution orientated, with a natural desire to find resolutions to issues.
Desirable
• Current registration relevant clinical registration body.
• Postgraduate or VET sector qualification in Adult Education or similar.
• Ability to project manage learning solutions from concept through to implementation.
• Learning design experience with the ability to produce concept / high level design documents.
• Experience working with external vendors to source learning content and materials.
