About the Role

As Contracts Manager, you will play a vital role in strategically managing the contract between the Hospital and the State Government’s Department of Health, ensuring Ramsay Health Care continues to deliver high-quality public services in alignment with organisational and budgetary objectives.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide expert advice to the Executive Committee on all matters relating to the public contract, including compliance requirements, service delivery targets and financial forecasting.
  • Monitor hospital and departmental performance against contractual targets, escalating issues where required and ensuring contractual reporting requirements are consistently met.
  • Support the Director – Corporate Services and Contracts and hospital leadership team by contributing to strategic planning, growth initiatives and continuous improvement activities aligned with Ramsay’s broader objectives.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including clinicians, executives and government representatives to promote the hospital’s services and foster constructive, long-term partnerships.
  • Apply strong commercial acumen to manage budgets, forecast activity and secure appropriate funding for public health services, ensuring financial sustainability.
  • Play an active role in driving innovation and change management, particularly in clinical process improvements and the ongoing development of hospital services.

Please note: In line with project requirements, there may occasionally be work outside standard Monday–Friday hours. Flexible work arrangements are available to ensure appropriate balance and compensation for this time.

  • Experience in collaboratively managing high-value stakeholder relationships, including government, clinicians and executive teams, with highly developed interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Sound understanding of compliance, reporting requirements and systems relevant to private healthcare (or a similarly complex environment), supported by advanced computer literacy and statistical analysis capabilities - proficiency in SAP and Meditech, plus some automation knowledge will be highly regarded.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Logistics or Supply Management (postgraduate qualifications in health, business, or management desirable).
  • Preferably solid exposure to the healthcare sector in particular, hands-on experience with Public-Private Partnerships.
