Nurse Unit Manager

The Opportunity
Join our Emergency Centre. We are seeking an experienced Nurse to take on a key leadership position in the role of a Nurse Unit Manager, you will join a dynamic team with an emergency specific educator as well as a greater critical care education team to support you. Our Emergency is a Level 5 centre, operational 24/7 with 31 beds, seeing over 20, 000 presentations annually.
This role will see you:
- Be accountable for the efficient and effective management of all human and material resources
- Be engaged with recruiting a new team
- Be a positive mentor and provide clinical leadership and support to your team
- Working with and supporting other managers in the wider hospital community in achieving excellence in patient outcomes
- Assist in shaping organisational strategy, improve procedural service provision and achieve departmental and Hospital strategic objectives.
About You
To excel in this role, you must have the ability to inspire, motivate, and mentor your team. As a leader, you will be driven by a passion for helping your team members succeed and develop, while also demonstrating a strong commitment to providing exceptional client care and service. You will bring a keen eye for strategic management of clinical staff, financial and material resources and an understanding of patient flow. Key to this role will be the capacity to lead and inspire a team of clinical professionals and act as a passionate mentor while effectively managing the resources and needs of the unit and business while ensuring a high standard of customer service.
You will also demonstrate:
- Current registration with AHPRA
- Minimum 3 years’ recent experience in emergency nursing
- A strong clinical leadership skill set
- Previous experience or exposure to managing clinical staff recruitment, rostering and performance management
- Strong leadership skills and confident with delegating duties
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
- Post graduate studies in an appropriate specialty area desirable

Essential Requirements
