About the Role

The Assistant Director of Clinical Services (Medical Services) supports our hospital in daily operational management, business development and workforce management to deliver high quality, safe care for our consumers, staff and partners.

The ADCS for Medical Services is responsible for the management of the following clinical areas:

  • After Hours Nurse Managers (AHNM)
  • Renal Services
  • Cardiac Services (excluding Cath Lab)
  • General Medical Services
  • Day Oncology Services
  • Discharge Planning (DCP)

This position reports directly to the Director of Clinical Services (DCS) with broader direction from the Hospital Executive Leadership Team. The Medical Services ADCS is supported by a Clinical Manager in each department, with 4 NUMs, PPT/Casual AHNM and 2 DCP’s reporting to the position.

 

About You

To succeed in this role, you will bring a strong clinical skillset with demonstrated leadership experience. You will have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage, motivate and influence a range of stakeholders at all levels to achieve positive outcomes.

You will be expected to demonstrate a proven track record in developing and fostering a team culture and enhancing the leadership skills of your team consistent with our Ramsay Way values.

 

Your Key Skills and Experience

  • Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration
  • Minimum 5 years post-graduate nursing experience & minimum 2-year experience as a NUM/equivalent or higher in an acute care facility
  • Proven ability to successfully lead and motivate a clinical services team providing strategic direction and positive leadership.
  • Proven workforce analysis and policy development skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to assist with accreditation and continuous improvement processes in a health care facility and achieve sound outcomes.
  • Knowledge and understanding of contemporary clinical risk management strategies that are effective in promoting and ensuring high quality patient care.
  • Awareness of the relevant legislative requirements and governing body reporting responsibilities of hospital/clinical services departments.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading the team to achieve clinical and financial key performance indicators.
  • Proficient computer skills using the MS Office suite.

 

Remuneration

On offer is base hourly rate of $56.83+ superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances. (QLD RN EA Level2 Grade4)

Requirements

  • Must provide a National Police check conducted within the previous 12 months
