What you’ll do
Join our team on a temporary contract with the potential for continued employment with the Cairns team after the contract ends. Take charge of our Pharmacy operations at Ramsay Pharmacy Cairns Private Hospital! As the Pharmacist Manager, you will lead the on-site pharmacy team and deliver high quality and effective specialist pharmacy services to our valued customers and patients. • Lead our pharmacy operations, professional services, and medication supply, catering to the needs of our valued patients and customers.
• Mentor and develop the skills of our staff, guiding them through onboarding and induction processes for new team members.
• Provide direction for our Pharmacy team while cultivating a positive culture that empowers everyone to excel.
• Independently deliver standard pharmacy services with minimal oversight, demonstrating competency in an interdisciplinary healthcare setting that emphasizes evidence-based practices and aligns with institutional objectives and professional standards.
• Handle core pharmaceutical responsibilities including clinical care delivery, medication management and distribution, staff development and training initiatives, while contributing to the development of operational protocols and guidelines
• Make autonomous professional decisions to address routine challenges, seeking guidance from senior staff only for complex clinical situations and advanced problem-solving scenarios.
What you’ll bring
• Bachelor of Pharmacy or equivalent with current Pharmacist Registration with AHPRA
• Strong leadership skills, capable of managing and leading a team in accordance with legislative and medication safety guidelines.
• High level of computer literacy including systems knowledge of dispensing software
• Previous experience in a hospital pharmacy setting is highly regarded but not essential .
• Utilise professional expertise to independently resolve day-to-day challenges, while seeking minimal supervision for advanced clinical situations requiring more sophisticated decision-making
• Build productive working relationships with diverse healthcare teams both within and outside the pharmacy department, engaging effectively with patients and their families while offering expert pharmaceutical consultation in collaborative settings
• Champion best practices in medication management and safety, elevate the pharmacy's role within the hospital system, contribute to policy development, and take an active role in quality improvement initiatives and departmental projects
It is a mandatory requirement that you provide:
• Proof of immunisation against infectious diseases
• A national police check conducted within the last 12 months
