About the role

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Theatre Consumables Co-Ordinator to join our operating theatre team. In this vital role, you will ensure that all surgical consumables and equipment are available and prepared for upcoming surgical procedures. You will play a key role in maintaining efficiency within the theatre department by completing set ups, managing stock levels, and ensuring all necessary items are available for each operation.

You will be required to source and coordinate the delivery of specific consumables and equipment for specialised procedures. You will work closely with the theatre team to anticipate and meet requirements, while also maintaining accurate records of usage. You will also be responsible for conducting regular checks to ensure stock is replenished and within date. 

This role is open to applicants with experience in an operating theatre environment including registered nurses, enrolled nurses and stores or supply officers with extensive experience in healthcare consumables and equipment.

You will also be required to ensure health and safety for patients, relatives, visitors, and colleagues. Improve clinical standards through audits and implementing best practices.

 

Your Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you must have experience and knowledge in operating theatre consumables and demonstrate exceptional customer service, confident communication, and strong interpersonal skills.

Essential;

  • Minimum (3) years in an acute hospital setting
  • Flexibility to work a rotating 7-day roster
  • Demonstrates excellent time management, organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Extensive knowledge of consumable items and their usage
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and adapt to changing priorities
  • Excellent teamwork skills
  • Ability to work effectively independently  

Preferred, but not essential;

  • Relevant qualifications and registrations with AHPRA

Requirements
