An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Accountant to join the dynamic Business Support Team at Ramsay Cairns. This role offers the chance to work in a complex and rewarding commercial environment, providing accurate and timely financial support to a large and diverse internal client base.

 

The Opportunity

The role directly supports the Executive Commercial Manager in the finance and commercial functions across four sites. Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating the reporting of commercial results to the Hospital Executive, Management, and Corporate Head Office, ensuring alignment with reporting schedules and deadlines.
  • Managing financial and tax compliance activities, overseeing finance processes, controls, and general ledger reconciliations.
  • Overseeing commercial contracts.
  • Supporting the development of the Business Support Team to streamline the processing of a high volume of accounting transactions.
  • Assisting with ad-hoc analysis and statutory reporting as required

 

About You

This position is suited to a CPA/CA qualified accountant who possesses strong technical accounting knowledge, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.  To succeed in this role, you will be eager to manage the financial reporting, accounting processes and general ledger maintenance for a large multi-site business. The ability to effectively interpret financial data and identify areas of interest or concern is essential, as are strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

 

Successful candidates will meet the following criteria:

  • At least two (2) years of experience in an accounting role
  • In-depth knowledge of financial reporting processes, financial systems, and general ledger management
  • Experience in inventory control and overseeing full capital expenditure functions across multiple sites
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, tasks, and responsibilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven ability to set standards, targets, and objectives, and coordinate work plans to ensure successful outcomes
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications with advanced Excel skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously while contributing to team goals and aligning with organisational objectives

 

Highly regarded candidates will also possess:

  • A qualification in Financial or Management Accounting.
  • Experience with SAP and/or PRONTO system software.
  • CA/CPA qualifications or currently progressing towards them.
  • Previous experience in the healthcare sector is desirable.
