The Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital has two permanent part-time opportunities for experienced Registered Nurses to join the Perioperative Education Department:

  • Clinical Nurse (minimum 24 hrs pf)/Clinical Nurse Educator (40 hrs pf) for Scrub/Scout and Endoscopy
  • Clinical Nurse (minimum 24 hrs pf)/Clinical Nurse Educator (40 hrs pf) for Anaesthetics and PACU

 

The Role

The Clinical Nurse/Clinical Nurse Educator will play a pivotal role in direct clinical support, supervision, instruction and mentoring to graduates and staff to ensure the delivery of safe, quality healthcare. You will be required to:

  • Provide quality, evidenced based training and support to staff and graduates within the Perioperative department
  • Develop, implement and evaluate learning and development programs
  • Provide valuable contributions to the hospital’s quality improvement process

About You

As an organised and efficient professional, you will demonstrate advanced skills in nursing assessment and highly developed clinical problem-solving skills. You will be a positive role model with a natural ability to mentor and support staff with an innovative approach to education delivery.

 

Key Skills and Experience

  • Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration
  • Minimum three (3) years’ relevant specialty experience in an acute hospital setting
  • Previous experience educating or preceptorship of staff in formal and informal settings
  • Sound knowledge of evidence-based practice in a clinical environment
  • Proven ability to work within a team or independently, as required
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Post graduate qualifications in Nursing/Clinical Education (or working towards) is desirable
  • Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment – TAE40116 is desirable

Requirements
