The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Perioperative Services Manager to lead our Theatre Team at Castlecrag Private Hospital.

This position is a key leadership and management role responsible for the efficient and effective management of all human and material resources related to our theatre complex which has three operating theatres. Castlecrag Private Hospital’s surgical services profile includes Plastics, Ocular Plastics, Orthopaedics, Gynaecology, ENT, Dental and General Surgery.

Reporting to the Director of Clinical Services, you will work with and support theatre and CSSD staff in achieving excellence in care delivery in line with best practice and legislative requirements.

The successful candidate will supervise, lead, direct and motivate staff to achieve outcomes through the effective management of both financial and human resources.

 

Skills and Experience

To succeed in this role, you will be a leader with a passion for seeing your team members succeed and grow with a focus on education, training and skill-based learning. You hold exceptional communication skills and can inspire, motivate and mentor your team. A key aspect is developing strong working relationships with the Visiting Medical Officers working in the operating theatres,

You will also demonstrate the following:

  • Relevant registration with AHPRA as Registered Nurse.
  • 5 years post registration experience in Perioperative services
  • Demonstrate experience in a leadership or management role
  • Proven ability to effectively plan and manage financial, human and material resources
  • Experience in managing clinical staff recruitment, rostering and performance management
  • Ability to plan, develop, implement and evaluate continuous improvement program
  • Ability to apply research findings to clinical practice

Highly desirable:

  • Post graduate studies in nursing leadership
  • Sound computer skills in MS Office suite including Excel

Requirements

  • Must provide a National Police Check conducted within the previous 12 months
