About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated Senior Physiotherapist to join our team as a Weekend Coordinator. This opportunity will see you working alongside a dedicated allied health and clinical team that provides an inpatient physiotherapy service. You will be responsible for the clinical support and leadership of the Physiotherapy team, with the support of the senior physiotherapy team.
The role will include but is not limited to:
- The Weekend Coordinator will provide any necessary clinical guidance to the physiotherapists and physiotherapy assistants working in orthopaedics.
- The Weekend Coordinator is responsible for receiving and appropriately triaging new orthopaedic weekend referrals.
- The role requires senior level clinical skills across the field of orthopaedic physiotherapy, as well as a high level of familiarity with patient flow, expected outcomes and the expectations of Medical and Nursing staff within the Hollywood Private Hospital setting. The role requires of the physiotherapist an ability to make autonomous decisions regarding patient prioritisation, and treatment objectives and strategies in an efficient and safe manner.
- Independent and clinically competent with regard to orthopaedic clinical decision making and caseload management.
- Coordination of physiotherapy service during weekend shift
- Management of patient allocations
- Coordination of ward handovers on orthopaedic wards
- Clinical management of weekend staff in orthopaedics
- Management of traffic light system
- Coordination of PT / PTA lists
- Management of Day Rehab referrals
Your Skills and Experience
- Bachelor of Physiotherapy or equivalent and current registration with Physiotherapy Board of Australia
- The ability to apply clinical reasoning, sound judgement and complex decision making at an advanced level of practice
- The ability to devise and evaluate evidence-based practice within assessment and treatment protocols
- Experience providing clinical education and supervision to junior staff members, Allied Health Assistants and/or students
- Minium of 5 years' experience working in an acute hospital setting
- Well-developed organisational and time management skills
- Flexible and positive approach to work.
