The Opportunity

We have a new and exciting opportunity for a Transitional Care Nurse Manager to join our team at Glengarry Private Hospital. This is a key leadership position within the hospital and is responsible for the efficient and effective management of 21 bedded transitional care unit (TCU).  

 

You will be required to lead the nursing team on our new TCU, facilitate discharge planning and work in collaboration with the members of the Allied Health team as well as other members of the hospital management teams to ensure department functions and systems support the business needs of the hospital, ensuring care is delivered in line with best practice, and legislative requirements, driving efficiencies, building strong relationships internally and externally whilst making a valuable contribution to the Hospital continuous improvement process.

 

About You

This position requires an experienced Registered Nurse who is compassionate, dedicated and skilled and is seeking an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in our Transitional Care Unit. You will have a strong commitment to delivering person-centered care.

To succeed in this role, you will be an effective and approachable leader with a natural ability to build rapport and effective relationships with both internal and external clientele; you must have excellent communication skills, problem solving abilities and the ability to work to tight deadlines. 

 

Essential Criteria:

  • Eligible for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
  • A minimum of 4 years post registration experience, including 1 years’ experience in same or similar specialty
  • Extensive experience in discharge planning 
  • Proven high level of communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven leadership with ability to motivate staff.
  • Ability to effectively plan and manage financial, human and material resources.
  • Ability to plan, develop, implement and evaluate a Quality Improvement program.
  • Ability to identify and develop strategies to meet learning requirements for ward.
  • Ability to apply research findings to clinical practice.
  • Willingness to accept and promote the Ramsay Way Values.

 

Desirable Criteria:

  • Previous experience in a senior or leadership position in a hospital setting
  • Post graduate studies in an appropriate area of healthcare desirable.
  • Previous experience in a similar practice setting
  • Understanding of ACAT and NDIS system
  • Sound understanding of health care funding arrangements.

Requirements

  • Must provide a National Police check conducted within the previous 12 months.
