The Role

We have an exciting and highly rewarding opportunity for an experienced hospital administrator to join us. Part-time position available.

At the heart of the department, the Administration staff play a crucial role. As the initial point of contact for patients and families, you will not only facilitate essential paperwork for admission, pre-admissions, and billing but also set the tone for a welcoming and supportive experience.

Your primary responsibility will be to deliver a professional, efficient, and customer-focused service across our ICU and Renal departments, with a key focus on administration and supporting patient comfort.

Key Accountabilities

• Managing incoming and outgoing calls to the ward.
• Providing general PSA assistance around the ward. 
• Provide timely and accurate information to queries by patients, visitors and other staff and departments.
• Work alongside medical staff, colleagues, patients and visitors to ensure a smooth hospital experience for patients.
• Compilation and management of patient admission papers and clinical notes.
• Supporting patient comfort.
• Tea & coffee services.
• Chair setup for patients and chair & equipment cleaning.
• Assist with re stock & stores.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will be an enthusiastic individual with a passion for customer service and enjoys being part of a busy ward. Your ability to converse and be empathetic while managing a busy flow of admissions and discharges is a key skill needed for this role.

You will also demonstrate:

• Computer literacy including Microsoft Office suite of programs.
• Experience either in a medical administration setting or a patient-facing role.
• Experience with Patient Management Systems will be highly regarded.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable working in and communication with a multidisciplinary team.

Desirable:

• Certificate in Medical Terminology.
• Experience in hospital mainframes systems.
