The Opportunity
We are seeking Theatre Technicians to work as part of our Theatre Team. Within this position you will work as a member of the perioperative team by supporting and supervising theatre personnel to prepare the operating theatre environment for procedures.
Duties in this role will include:
- Prepping surgical theatres for a variety of different procedures
- Assisting with the safe transfer of patients on and off the operating table
- Undertake designated cleaning tasks in accordance with Infection control policies and procedures
- Assisting in the theatres where required by other clinical staff
- Maintaining surgical equipment and patient positioning devices
- Transporting and supporting theatre patients throughout their Perioperative journey.
Your Skills and Experience
To succeed in this role, you will be an enthusiastic individual with a passion for customer service who enjoys being part of a busy team.
You will also bring:
- 1-year minimum Tech experience within an operating theatre (Desired)
- Certificate III in Operating Theatre Technician Practice/Health Services Assistant or equivalent (Essential). Cert IV highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Comfortable working in a diverse, fast paced team
- The flexibility to work a rotating roster and participate in the on-call roster
- Understanding of infection control and manual handling procedures
