RCM Workflow Stream Lead

The Opportunity:
The Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) team is a multifaceted team responsible for managing and supporting the accurate timely and efficient collection of revenue, from the initial patient encounter or service provided to the receipt of final payment. The team oversees a diverse range of operational facets including administration tasks such as insurance coverage verification, hospital admission, and charge capture, as well as accurate coding of services rendered and adherence to contractual business rules, claim submission to payors and diligent follow up on outstanding accounts.
Responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of integrated and streamlined workflows throughout the entire revenue cycle, encompassing administration, coding, billing, and collections. The role focuses on optimising end-to-end processes, via a digital workflow, strengthening handovers and data flow between functions, ensuring compliance and performance standards are met, and driving improved operational and financial outcomes across the organisation.
About you:
To succeed in this role, you will be an operationally focused leader with strong experience in revenue cycle functions such as administration, coding, billing, and collections. You will act as the key liaison between revenue cycle teams and application developers, ensuring that system enhancements and workflows accurately reflect operational needs and support day-to-day processes.
You bring a practical understanding of revenue cycle operations and excel at translating business requirements into clear, actionable feedback for technical teams. Your ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders, manage priorities, and drive adoption will be essential in delivering effective solutions that improve efficiency, compliance, and financial outcomes. Additionally, you have experience in process and change management, enabling you to support smooth transitions and foster continuous improvement throughout the organisation.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Experience with patient administration systems: e.g., Meditech, Eclipse, SAP, online booking platforms, and other relevant health industry specific applications.
- Strong understanding of revenue cycle processes and best practices within a healthcare or hospital setting.
- Demonstrated previous involvement in strategic innovation or transformation projects.
- 3+ years’ experience in a revenue-cycle based role
- Proven ability to prioritise and manage the allocation of features and components within technical rollouts, ensuring critical functionalities are delivered efficiently and aligned with operational needs.
- Demonstrated skill in active listening, with the capacity to comprehend nuances, ask insightful questions, and provide thoughtful responses during verbal exchanges.
- Ability to systematically analyse complex problems, draw relevant conclusions, implement appropriate solutions, and prioritise.
- Commitment to fostering a culture of continuous improvement, incorporating feedback loops, and refining change strategies based on lessons learned.
- Proven capability in developing and delivering engaging and impactful presentations, utilizing appropriate visual aids and interactive elements to enhance understanding.
- Experience in managing change initiatives and driving adoption across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Proficiency in documentation, including developing process maps, training materials, and implementation plans.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
- Ability to work autonomously, within a multi-disciplinary team, collaboratively with stakeholders and to tight deadlines.
Desirable:
- Previous experience with project management or change management.
- Certification in process improvement or a tertiary qualification in business, commence or health.
