About the Role
John Flynn Private Hospital is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Emergency Ward Clerk to join our General Administration team on a part-time night duty basis.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to providing high-quality support to both patients and clinical teams. You will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our Emergency Department by managing patient administration and supporting staff, patients, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

• Register patients, process payments, and manage admission and discharge procedures.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality at all times.
• Respond to enquiries and provide assistance to patients, visitors, and staff.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to support seamless patient care delivery.
• Manage incoming and outgoing calls and provide timely, accurate information.
• Compile and manage admission paperwork and clinical notes.

About You
To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate:

• Proven administrative experience, ideally in a healthcare or customer service environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to demonstrate empathy, patience, and professionalism.
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritise competing demands.
• Confidence with IT systems (experience with Meditech highly regarded).
• Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Previous medical reception or ward clerk experience (preferred).
• Knowledge of medical terminology (advantageous).

Requirements

• Must provide a National Police check conducted within the previous 12 months
• According to the role, Ramsay may require a proof of immunisation against infectious diseases.
