The Opportunity
An exceptional leadership opportunity is available for a dedicated and experienced Nurse Unit Manager to join our Cardiac Ward. This role is pivotal in guiding and supporting staff to deliver high-quality patient care aligned with best practise standards and legislative requirements.
The Cardiac Ward comprises of 31 beds, including:
- 4 Acute Care Beds
- 8 Coronary Care Beds
- 19 Cardiothoracic / Cardiology Beds
As the Nurse Unit Manager, you will be responsible for the effective and efficient management of departmental staff, fostering a collaborative environment, and ensuring coordination with internal and external stakeholders involved in patient care.
This dynamic, fast-paced role is a key senior nursing leadership position, working closely with the Cardiac Services Manager to drive strategic initiatives and achieve organisational objectives.
Skills and Experience
- Currently registered as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
- Minimum 5 years clinical experience in cardiac nursing, with demonstrated leadership capabilities
- Post graduate qualifications in nursing management or a related clinical speciality (or working towards)
- Proven ability to lead and manage a multidisciplinary team in a complex healthcare environment
- Strong understanding of clinical governance, risk management and quality improvement process
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills
