About the Role
Join our dynamic Day of Surgery Admissions (DOSA) team as a Clinical Nurse. In this role, you will be accountable to the Nurse Unit Manager and supported to enhance your skills and grow your career in a friendly and inclusive environment.

This part-time opportunity is ideal for an experienced nurse with strong organisational skills and a passion for delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.

As a Clinical Nurse in DOSA, you will play a direct leadership role, supporting and supervising frontline team members, coordinating patient flow, and ensuring the highest standards of care. You will work closely with VMOs, the Theatre Floor Coordinator, and other key stakeholders to ensure an efficient perioperative service and a positive patient experience.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Prioritising patient admissions and ensuring timely preparation for surgery.
  • Liaising with VMOs, Theatre Floor Coordinators, and other stakeholders.
  • Acting as a professional resource, demonstrating broad clinical knowledge.
  • Supervising and supporting staff to maintain efficient patient flow.
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives aligned with departmental goals.
  • Participating and leading the department’s National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards.

 

About You
Are you ready to take the next step in your nursing career? We are seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse who can provide leadership, support education, and act as a professional resource within the department.

You will bring:

  • Current AHPRA registration.
  • Relevant experience in general surgical and/or day surgery nursing.
  • Minimum 5 years’ surgical experience (ward-based and/or day surgery).
  • Strong focus on education and quality improvement.
  • Cannulation experience (advantageous).

 

Remuneration: On offer is a base hourly rate $54.72 - $58.82 + superannuation, based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances (QLD Clinical Nurse/Midwife Level 2 gr1-gr4).

Requirements

  • Must provide a National Police check conducted within the previous 12 months
  • According to the role, Ramsay may require a Working-With-Children check and proof of immunisation against infectious diseases.
