About the Role

We are seeking an experienced, passionate senior nursing/midwifery professional to join our Maternity Unit at John Flynn Private Hospital in an exciting clinical management role as the Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager.

The Maternity Unit is made up of 3 specialised birth suites, 12 single inpatient rooms and a Special Care Nursery.

This is a key leadership & management role within the Hospital, accountable for the efficient and effective management of all human & material resources within the department. The role encompasses planning, implementing, and evaluating practices, processes and services within the department. Responsible for working with and supporting other managers in achieving excellence in care delivery in line with best practice and legislative requirements.

This role will work closely with the Executive team to shape organisational strategy, improve procedural service provision and achieve departmental and Hospital strategic objectives.

This role reports to the Assistant Director of Clinical Services/Director of Clinical Services.

 

About You

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Current registration with AHPRA.
  • Demonstrated extensive clinical skills and experience as a Clinical Nurse/Midwife within an acute Maternity Unit including delivering high standards of clinical care for patients utilising specialist knowledge.
  • Relevant Post Graduate Qualification (or currently working towards) desirable.
  • Recent and relevant Leadership and Management experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven commitment to customer service.
  • Professional and highly motivated with a passion for enhancing staff engagement.
  • Passionate about quality improvement and education.
  • Effective management of rostering processes and allocation of duties for all clinical staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage financial and human resources.
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and foster relationships with key stake holders.

 

Remuneration: On offer is a base hourly rate ranging from $68.14 - $73.73 + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances. (QLD RN/Midwife Enterprise Agreement).

Requirements

  • Must provide a National Police check conducted within the previous 12 months
  • According to the role, Ramsay may require a Working-With-Children check and proof of immunisation against infectious diseases.
