About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists to join our leadership team as an After-Hours Coordinator, working alongside a highly experienced team in a dynamic hospital environment.
This key leadership role is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and effective operational management of the hospital after hours. You will be the central point of coordination, providing clinical leadership and operational oversight to maintain excellence in patient care and team performance.
In this role, you will:
- Support the planning, coordination, and evaluation of care delivery and hospital services to ensure seamless patient flow and optimal safety.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and legislative requirements to uphold clinical best practice.
- Collaborate closely with Shift Leaders, Clinical Managers, and Visiting Medical Officers to drive high standards of care and professional accountability.
- Lead and inspire a multidisciplinary team, fostering a culture of compassion, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Champion teamwork and clinical excellence by partnering with Shift Leaders, Clinical Managers, and Visiting Medical Officers to deliver coordinated care, ensure adherence to best practices, and achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Champion communication and collaboration across departments to enhance patient and staff experience.
- Report directly to the Assistant Director of Clinical Services, contributing to strategic planning and service excellence.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will be a confident, compassionate, and influential clinical leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You bring strong decision-making skills, emotional intelligence, and the ability to remain calm under pressure while coordinating and motivating a diverse team of clinical and non-clinical professionals. Your collaborative approach and excellent communication skills enable you to build trusted relationships with colleagues and Visiting Medical Officers, driving best practice care and outstanding patient outcomes.
You will also bring:
• Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
• A minimum of 5 years’ postgraduate experience in acute care.
• Experience in orthopaedics (highly regarded).
• Proven ability to lead by example and act as a clinical role model.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Remuneration: Base Hourly Rates in accordance with Enterprise Agreement + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances.
