• Multiple part time positions available under Environmental services assistant as cleaner (across the hospital), Orderly (inc.  internal Patient Transport) and Linen porter (for Laundry) depending on the shift allocated.

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated Environmental Services Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team. You will provide excellent customer service while completing essential cleaning and/or orderly duties.

Depending on the position, your responsibilities may include:

• Maintaining a safe and clean ward/unit in line with Infection Control and OSH standards.
• Completing cleaning tasks such as bed decontamination, bathroom and room cleaning, tile and wet cleaning, and safe use of cleaning tools.
• Carrying out Linen Porter duties: receiving linen stock, preparing and delivering linen trolleys, and collecting soiled linen.
• Performing Orderly duties: safe patient transfers and delivering items requested by hospital departments.
• Supporting daily hospital operations under direction.
• Assisting with stock maintenance and providing excellent customer service.
• Demonstrating strong work ethics such as punctuality, respect, and professionalism.

Additionally, you may:

• Perform waste management duties, including bin decontamination and clinical waste handling (desirable).
• Identify and report risks or hazards.
• Complete other duties as directed by management.

Your Skills and Experience

• Experience in hospital or commercial cleaning, with high standards of presentation.
• Patient-centred service: professional communication, respect for privacy, prompt responses, and adherence to uniform and hygiene standards.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to proactively address cleanliness issues.
• Knowledge of OH&S and Infection Control, including safe chemical handling.
• Excellent time-management and ability to prioritise tasks.
• Completion of required training (or willingness to undertake).
• Understanding of Safety Data Sheets (desirable).
• Flexibility to work a 14-day rotating roster with varied shifts (desirable).
