Principal responsibilities to include (but not limited to):
- Contributes to and participates in the education of all clinical staff by being involved in departmental/hospital orientation, in-servicing and clinical competence programs.
- Liaison with the Clinical Midwife Manager regarding education needs of their staff.
- The Specialist Staff Development Midwife will also make a valuable contribution to the hospital Quality Improvement process
What we are looking for:
- Demonstrated commitment to uphold and promote the Ramsay Way core values.
- Relevant registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia.
- Demonstrated post registration and extensive experience in Midwifery Care.
- Be proficient in all clinical skills relevant to the chosen field (Midwifery) and demonstrate competency in hospital specific competencies.
- Demonstrated ability to educate staff in formal and informal settings.
- Knowledge of work contracts and methods of assisting and facilitating learning.
- High level interpersonal and (written and verbal) communication skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required.
- Demonstrated negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Sound computer literacy in all Microsoft programs.
Desirable:
- Relevant post-graduate qualifications.
- Completion of preceptorship program or equivalent.
- Manual Handling/Basic Life support/Medication assessor competence.
- Certificate IV Workplace Training and Assessment.

Requirements
- Provide or complete a National Police Check (conducted within the last 12 months)
