Cairns Private Hospital is seeking dedicated and experienced Hospital Medical Officers to join our clinical team on a casual basis. This role offers flexible shifts and is well suited to local General Practitioners or career medical officers wishing to maintain acute hospital skills in a supportive and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide medical assessment and clinical care to hospitalised patients across surgical, medical and rehabilitation wards.
- Complete admission assessments and request appropriate diagnostic investigations.
- Work collaboratively with Visiting Medical Officers and allied health professionals.
- Respond to clinical emergencies and initiate first-line management.
- Maintain accurate, timely and comprehensive patient documentation.
- Participate in clinical handovers and multidisciplinary team meetings.
Qualifications and Experience
- General Registration with AHPRA.
- Minimum of three years postgraduate clinical experience.
- Current Advanced Life Support certification is desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated commitment to patient safety, clinical excellence and continuous improvement.

Requirements
