The Opportunity
We are seeking an outstanding Education Coordinator (Nurse Educator) to spearhead education across our two hospitals in Sydney (Hunters Hill and Castlecrag Private Hospitals). This full-time role is your opportunity to step into a dynamic, highly visible clinical & non clinical leadership position that drives excellence, empowers our workforce, and strengthens the safety and capability of our teams.
As the Education Coordinator, you will collaborate with managers and staff to design and deliver contemporary education. Your work will directly influence staff confidence, patient outcomes, regulatory compliance and the standard of care delivered in every department.
This position has a primary reporting line to the Director of Clinical Services and is professionally supported by the Learning and Development Manager (based at North Shore Private Hospital).
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse workforce and service needs to identify education and training requirements, and lead the planning, delivery and implementation of responsive education programs.
- Monitor compliance with mandatory competencies and coordinate the timely completion of required assessments.
- Undertake competency assessments in line with organisational frameworks, NSQHS Standards and scope of practice.
- Provide education compliance, competency and training reports to managers, educators and governance committees.
- Monitor eLearning compliance.
- Liaise with managers, executives, and staff to identify current, emergent and department-specific education needs.
- Support a culture of clinical excellence, professional accountability, and patient safety.
- Collaborate closely with the Student and Graduate Coordinator, educators, and facilitators to ensure high-quality, safe and positive learning experiences for students and graduates.
- Contribute to the onboarding, coaching, skill development, and upskilling of new, early-career and transitioning staff.
About You
- Registered Nurse with a minimum of 5 years’ acute clinical experience.
- Demonstrated experience in education, competency assessment, preceptorship and mentoring.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and confidence using Learning Management Systems to monitor compliance, reporting and education completion.
- Strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across multiple departments and disciplines.
- Commitment to best practice, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Qualification in education or training (or willingness to work towards)
