The Opportunity
RSC Charlestown, part of the Ramsay Newcastle network, is seeking a motivated and experienced clinical nurse to support in the Quality and safety portfolio. With a 12-bed inpatient ward, 4 Operating Theatres and 3 procedural rooms, we offer same day and overnight surgical services for Gastroenterology and general surgery, Plastics and reconstructive surgeries, Oral Maxillo-facial surgery and ENT, and soft tissue orthopaedics. This is an autonomous role, liaising with both the Clinical Leadership team onsite, and within the wider Ramsay network within Newcastle.
This role would suit a well organised and enthusiastic clinical nurse with a background in surgical/operating theatre nursing, who is passionate about Quality and Safety, has an interest in consumer engagement and patient liaison scenarios, and confident with contributing to both legislative and clinical care standards reporting and requirements.
Skills and Experience
To succeed in this role, you will be a confident, self-directed individual with a high level of skill and knowledge in all aspect of hospital governance.
- Relevant clinical qualifications in Nursing
- Minimum of 5 years in an acute hospital setting
- Experience and competence in undertaking root cause analysis investigations
- Demonstrated effectiveness in both operational and strategic leadership in a hospital setting
- Experience and expertise in quality and patient safety role/s
- Demonstrated understanding of quality improvement framework/s
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Intermediate to advanced skills in the Microsoft office suite and knowledge of databases such as RiskMan
