The Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Patient Services Assistant (PSA) to join our team on a casual basis, supporting patients across our Day of Surgery Admissions departments.
In this rewarding role, you will play a key part in ensuring patient comfort, dignity, and safety while helping to maintain the smooth operation of the hospital. This position is ideal for someone with a Certificate III in Aged Care or Health Services who is passionate about delivering high-quality care in a supportive and fast-paced environment.
As a PSA, you will:
- Provide direct patient care, assisting with daily activities such as surgical preparations (pre-operative), dressing, feeding, and mobility.
- Safely transport patients as required (eg. wheelchair transfers).
- Support clinical teams by monitoring vital signs, assisting with ECGs, and recording accurate observations.
- Contribute to a safe and welcoming environment, always prioritising patient wellbeing and comfort.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist clinical staff in providing high-quality care and patient support.
- Provide safe patient transport using hospital-approved equipment and vehicles.
- Assist patients on admission and ensure they are settled comfortably.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in patient rooms and shared areas, in line with infection control standards.
About You
You thrive in a busy hospital setting, adapt quickly to changing demands, and consistently uphold the highest standards of care and professionalism. You are empathetic, reliable, and a strong team player, committed to ensuring positive experiences for patients and their families.
To be successful, you will have:
- Certificate III in Aged Care, Health Services, or Care Support (desirable).
- Experience working in a clinical hospital setting.
- Strong understanding of infection control, manual handling, and hospital safety procedures.
- Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent time management and interpersonal skills.
Desirable qualifications and experience:
- Currently studying Nursing (Year 2 or 3).
- Certificate IV in Health Services Assistance.
Renumeration: On offer $30.59 - $32.94 + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances. (QLD EBA level 2.1 - 2.4).

Requirements
- Must provide or complete a National Police Check conducted within the previous 12 months
