The Learning Designer is responsible for designing and developing innovative and engaging learning solutions that support our organisational capability needs now and for the future.
 
With a deep knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies and digital authoring tools, they collaborate with Learning Design Lead, Learning Leads and Specialists, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to create interactive learning content for clinical, non-clinical and corporate audiences. These learning solutions span a broad range of subject matter including compliance, clinical, leadership, customer service and soft skill development.
In addition, the Learning Designer will contribute to the build of learning design standards and accessibility frameworks to ensure a consistent and impactful learning experience for every learner, as they develop new skills, knowledge and behaviours.
 
Essential             
                  
• Demonstrated experience designing and developing contemporary instructional content
• Experience producing both professional skills and technical capability training across areas such as leadership, communication, technology and compliance
• Strong foundation in adult learning theory, instructional design practice and learning technologies
• Proficiency with digital authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Vyond) and multimedia development software such as Adobe Creative Suite
• Well‑developed visual design skills
• Solid project management capability with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively across teams
• Highly motivated with effective time‑management skills
• Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to present ideas clearly
• A collaborative mindset with a natural inclination to seek feedback and refine concepts
• A growth‑oriented approach, with curiosity to explore new methods, tools and design practices
 
Desirable   
                
• Bachelor's degree in instructional design, education, or a related discipline
• Experience within a health care setting
• Familiarity with agile project management principles
• Exposure to gamification or other innovative learning methodologies
 
Key Accountabilities
 
Working with Learning Leads and Specialists
• Develop high level design documents outlining learning objectives, structure and recommended approaches
• Maintain project plans, track progress and escalate issues where needed
• Coordinate reviews and obtain approvals from SMEs and stakeholders
 
Partnering with SMEs
 
• Gather source information to inform learning design
• Create high quality instructional materials, assessments and evaluation methods across both digital and face to face delivery formats
• Produce visually rich graphics, animations and multimedia components that enhance learner experience
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of Ramsay’s learning programs in line with Learning Design Standards, Accessibility Standards and writing style guides
 
Design & Development Responsibilities
 
• Build templates for slides, resources, quick reference guides and digital learning assets
• Develop Storyline, Rise and Chameleon templates
• Conduct quality checks to ensure all materials reflect the Ramsay brand, meet WCAG 2.1 requirements and align with inclusive design principles
• Use feedback and evaluation data to refine and improve programs
• Monitor emerging trends in learning design, technology and visual communication to ensure solutions remain current and effective
• Evaluate learning solutions based on feedback and data available from evaluations and identify opportunities for improvement
• Stay up to date with emerging trends and best practices in learning design, graphic design, eLearning and technologies to ensure that our programs are engaging, relevant and reflect contemporary learning design
