The Opportunity: 

We have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Registered Nurse to join our friendly Cardiology and Medical Team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care within the General Medical and Cardiology ward. This includes the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care for patients with a wide range of acute and chronic medical and cardiac conditions. You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective care delivery in alignment with hospital policies.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop person-centred care plans
  • Provide care to patients with cardiac conditions including post-myocardial infarction, heart failure, and arrhythmias
  • Assist with the administration of medications, including cardiac-specific therapies, and monitor patient response
  • Accurately document clinical observations, vital signs, and nursing interventions
  • Monitor telemetry and support patients undergoing cardiac diagnostics and procedures
  • Educate patients and their families about their health condition, medications, and ongoing care
  • Collaborate effectively with medical, allied health, and support staff to deliver holistic care
  • Comply with infection control standards and workplace safety procedures
  • Participate in audits, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing professional development

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working with cardiothoracic, Vascular and Heart Failure patients (essential)
  • Competent in ECG interpretation and cardiac observation monitoring

Remuneration

A base hourly rate ranging from $44.61 - $56.52 + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances. (NSW RN/Midwife gr3-gr8)

Requirements

  • Must provide or complete a National Police Check conducted within the previous 12 months
