The Role
Joining our team as a receptionist, you will be responsible for performing administrative duties within the department such as discharging and transferring patients, filing, booking appointments and general reception duties.

Your Key Skills and Experience
- Computer literacy including Microsoft Office suite programs and Patient Management Systems essential
- Experience either in a medical administration setting or a patient-facing role highly desirable
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain good working relations with others
- Accurate data entry skills with a high degree of attention to detail
- Proven organisational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written and a professional phone manner
- Strong interpersonal skills and a strong team focus are vital for this position.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills, a result of your strong customer service skills. Your proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required will also assist you in this role as you will often find yourself ‘thinking on your feet’ to ensure that daily tasks are met in an ever-changing environment.
You will also bring;
• Certificate in Medical Terminology – desired
• Previous experience in hospital mainframe systems – desired
• Previous Hospital, Medical Reception or Health fund experience - desired
• Computer literacy and precise data entry, including competent keyboard and Microsoft Office skills
• The ability to work across multiple computer systems in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to work unsupervised
• Ability to complete tasks within designated time frame
• Availability to work a 24/7 rotating roster is essential (including overnight shifts when in ED)
The successful applicant will be highly motivated, with great multitasking capabilities and provide a high level of customer service whilst having a primary focus on patient care despite the busy environment.

- Provide or complete a National Police Check (conducted within the last 12 months)
