About this Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Registered Nurse with demonstrated broad knowledge and clinical expertise in all areas of patient care to join our fast-paced Accident and Emergency department to support our Education Team.
As one of the busiest Emergency departments in Western Australia, our department treats a truly interesting and diverse case mix and has 63 patient bays, which is made up of 30 adult treatment bays, a 12-bed emergency admission area, a 10 bed Mental Health Observation Area, an 11-bed paediatric treatment and observation area and three resuscitation bays.
Working in partnership with the Clinical Nurse Manager, you will assist with unit-based education and training within the department and have ongoing responsibility for mentoring, role development and enhancing the skills of nursing staff to ensure a high level of clinical care is delivered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning, development and implementation of area specific education and clinical teaching for Emergency nursing staff
- Demonstrates advanced professional practice within their current role.
- Acts as a positive role model particularly in relation to – specialty knowledge base and clinical competence; problem solving; ethical and professional behaviour; communication and leadership.
- Applies contemporary adult learning strategies to all teaching sessions.
- Provides appropriate guidance for staff and students to enhance clinical performance.
- Identifies the individual learning needs of staff.
- Provides constructive and effective feedback and promotes reflective practice
What you’ll bring:
- Minimum of 3 years recent Emergency/Critical Care nursing experience, that demonstrates expert clinical and problem-solving skills, plus a postgraduate certificate in Emergency/ Critical Care Nursing or minimum of 5 years recent Emergency/Critical Care nursing experience, that demonstrates expert clinical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to apply the principles of adult learning to clinical education.
- Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage conflict and produce resolution.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Knowledge of and ability to practice Paediatric care.
- Knowledge and understanding of quality improvement, its relevance to practice and its relationship to strategic development.
Remuneration
A base hourly rate ranging from $58.38 - $62.60 + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances. (WA RHC Nurses & Midwives RN L2, gr1-gr6)

- Provide or complete a National Police Check (conducted within the last 12 months)
