The Opportunity
Ramsay Health Care is seeking an experienced leader to step into a pivotal national role, shaping and leading the engineering and facilities function across a complex, asset-intensive portfolio. As National Engineering & Facilities Manager, you will drive the transition to a proactive, data-led maintenance model, ensuring assets are safe, compliant, and optimised for performance. You will also play a key role in standardising practices, building organisational capability, and supporting long-term capital and infrastructure planning across the business.
What You’ll Do
You’ll provide strategic and operational leadership across a national portfolio, building a high-performing function and embedding best-practice engineering and asset management frameworks. Key accountabilities include:
- Lead the implementation and optimisation of a national CMMS, shifting from reactive to preventative maintenance.
- Provide leadership to a national team of Facility Managers and Site Engineers.
- Ensure compliance with all engineering and facilities regulatory requirements.
- Manage R&M budgets, driving cost optimisation and performance outcomes.
- Develop data-led asset lifecycle strategies, including annual and long-term capital plans.
- Establish national governance frameworks, standards, and policies.
- Partner with sites to plan and deliver critical plant shutdowns and infrastructure upgrades.
- Collaborate with Procurement on supplier and category strategies.
- Lead sustainability initiatives, including energy efficiency and emissions reduction.
- Build strong cross-functional partnerships across WHS, Property, Finance, Legal, and Procurement.
What You’ll Bring
You are a proven leader with experience operating at scale, bringing strong technical expertise and the ability to influence across a diverse stakeholder group. Key skills and experience include:
- Senior leadership experience across engineering, facilities, or asset management in complex environments.
- Proven track record building and embedding national frameworks and operating models.
- Strong understanding of asset lifecycle management and maintenance strategies.
- Commercial acumen with experience managing large budgets and driving efficiencies.
- Experience leading and developing high-performing, distributed teams.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at executive level.
- Knowledge of regulatory, compliance, and safety requirements in asset-intensive industries.
- Passion for continuous improvement, innovation, and sustainability.
