Cardiothoracic Scrub Coordinator

The Role
Wollongong Private Hospital is seeking an experienced Cardiothoracic Scrub Scout RN.
As the Cardiothoracic Scrub Coordinator you will be working with and supporting the cardiothoracic team to achieve excellence in clinical care delivery in line with best practice, legislative requirements. You will provide clinical direction and supervise nursing practice within the cardiothoracic team. In addition, you will be a clinical and professional resource person demonstrating broad knowledge and clinical expertise within the cardiothoracic surgical specialty. You will oversee the speciality working closely with the Perioperative Management team, Nursing Staff, Surgeons and other clinical areas/personnel involved in cardiothoracic surgery.
The role will see you co-ordinate the cardiothoracic speciality encompassing both clinical and quality components. To be successful you must have extensive Scrub / Scout experience in a Cardiothoracic surgery. You will be a positive and have the ability to work both within a team and independently.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate the following:
- Current registration with AHPRA
- Minimum 5 years post graduate experience in cardiothoracic surgery.
- Post graduate qualification in relevant specialty highly regarded.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills, strong planning and organisational skills.
- Sound written and verbal communication skills.
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office programs.
- Commitment to excellence in nursing and continuous quality improvement, contributing to improving standards of care and delivery of services in line with the needs of the Hospital.
Desirable:
- Completed preceptorship program
- Training, coaching and mentorship skills
- Excellent time management skills
