Education Co-ordinator

Ramsay Surgical Centres

Ramsay Health Care is a global operator of private hospitals and primary care clinics with over 70 Australian sites employing over 34,000 people. We have been focused on delivering high-quality patient care and practising the Ramsay Way philosophy of ‘People Caring for People’ since 1964.

We believe in a bright future for our company and for every one of our employees – our wellbeing initiatives and learning and development programs have seen us grow as an industry leader and sought after employer.

The Opportunity

Ramsay Surgical Centre, a division of Ramsay Health Care, manages the day and short-stay surgical hospitals within the portfolio. As we continue to expand dedicated services in this space, it’s essential to have tailored education processes and standards that meet the unique needs of this environment.

We are seeking an Education Co-ordinator to support the Ramsay Surgical Centres by streamlining workflows and designing fit-for-purpose ways of working. This role will coordinate and help drive these initiatives at site level.

The role will report to the National CEO – Ramsay Surgical Centres with site-specific reporting to the Director of Clinical Services and General Manager for each site. This role has no direct reports.

What You’ll Do

Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve, but are not limited to:

  • Create an education framework for the Ramsay Surgical Centres (RSC).
  • Oversee and ensure compliance with hospital accreditation standards, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Drive initiatives to enhance high-quality clinical outcomes across all services.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant regulatory, legal and operational standards.
  • Create RSC-specific education policies and audit schedules.
  • Provide the Director of Clinical Services and General Manager with data to support them in their decision making and presentation to Medical Advisory Committee.
  • Support the Director of Clinical Services and General Manager in ensuring the highest level of education implementation at site.
  • Co-ordinate education activities at site and remotely through site champions.
  • Responsible for education compliance.

Please note, this role requires occasional travel—typically quarterly site visits and additional travel to support accreditation preparation when needed.

What You’ll Bring

As a proponent of The Ramsay Way - ‘People Caring for People’, you will excel at fostering positive working relations with key stakeholders, developing people, building high-performance teams, and successfully leading them through organisational change. Additionally, you will:

  • Function as a proficient clinical operator with a solid understanding of the private hospital legislative landscape.
  • Demonstrate sound resource management skills to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of all departments.
  • Possess an understanding of the performance levers driving quality business outcomes and have experience in applying quality improvement processes.
  • Demonstrate a passion for the success and development of people, coupled with expert communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • A deep understanding of the needs of day and short-stay surgical hospitals.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
  • 5+ years’ experience as a nurse working in a peri-operative environment

About The Hospitals

The role will support Ramsay’s existing surgical centres and also the commissioning of the greenfield surgical sites under development, and into the future.

Benefits

  • Compelling salary and an extensive benefits package that recognise and reward your valuable contributions, while supporting your overall well-being.
  • Enhance your career trajectory through a wealth of professional development initiatives and clearly defined pathways for advancement, empowering you to realise your full potential within our organisation.
  • Enjoy access to a premier rewards platform that offers exceptional discounts and privileges from renowned retailers, enriching your lifestyle both personally and professionally.
  • Embrace the opportunity to drive transformative change in the delivery of high-quality healthcare services, making a significant contribution to the evolution of our industry for the better.
