The Opportunity
Ramsay Surgical Centre (RSC), a division of Ramsay Health Care, manages day and short-stay surgical hospitals. As Ramsay focuses on delivering dedicated services in this space, it is essential to have quality and infection control processes specifically designed for this unique environment.
We are seeking a Quality & Infection Control Co-ordinator to support Ramsay Surgical Centres by streamlining and designing workflows tailored to this environment, while coordinating and driving initiatives at the site level.
The role will report to the National CEO – Ramsay Surgical Centres with site-specific reporting to the Director of Clinical Services and General Manager for each site. This role has no direct reports.
What You’ll Do
Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve, but are not limited to:
- Create a quality and infection control framework that is specific to the day and short-stay hospital environment.
- Oversee and ensure compliance with hospital accreditation standards, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Drive initiatives to enhance high-quality clinical outcomes across all services.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant regulatory, legal, and operational standards.
- Create RSC-specific quality and infection control policies and audit schedules.
- Provide the Director of Clinical Services and General Manager with data to support them in their decision making and presentation to the Medical Advisory Committee.
- Support the Director of Clinical Services and General Manager in ensuring the highest level of quality and infection control practice and culture.
- Co-ordinate education activities at site in the areas of quality and infection control.
- Responsible for quality and infection control compliance.
What You’ll Bring
As a proponent of The Ramsay Way - ‘People Caring for People’, you will excel at fostering positive working relations with key stakeholders, developing people, building high-performance teams, and successfully leading them through organisational change.
- 5+ years working in a peri-operative environment.
- An understanding of the infection control requirements of sterilising departments.
- Function as a proficient clinical operator with a solid understanding of the private hospital legislative landscape.
- Demonstrate sound resource management skills to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of all departments.
- Possess an understanding of the performance levers driving quality business outcomes and have experience in applying quality improvement processes.
- Demonstrate a passion for the success and development of people, coupled with expert communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- A deep understanding of the needs of day and short-stay surgical hospitals
Please note, this role requires occasional travel—typically quarterly site visits and additional travel to support accreditation preparation when needed.
Essential Qualifications
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
