Mt Wilga Private Hospital is seeking a Casual Maintenance Officer

 

About The Role

In this role, you will undertake all assigned maintenance duties, including work related to general hospital maintenance including planned and reactive maintenance. Duties may include patching, plastering and painting, lighting maintenance, gutters, air conditioning, tiling, basic plumbing and other general repairs.

You will be reporting to the Director of Finance and working alongside our Maintenance Supervisor and preferred suppliers, ensuring all work carried out by contractors is within the planned budget.

 

Your Skills and Experiences

To succeed in this role, you must be a collaborative and effective team player with strong communication skills. You should be willing to work across various trades within your skill levels and build relationships with colleagues and customers. Understanding WHS requirements and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations is essential. You are expected to provide maintenance services that meet legislative standards, corporate policies, and hospital budgets.

Furthermore, you will also:

  • Have a sound level of computer literacy skills
  • Be able to demonstrate maturity in the workplace to get the job done whilst also focusing on health and safety practices
  • Have the ability to work on your own initiative and identify any areas for improvement that may be needed
  • Preferably hold a trade qualification which will be highly regarded but not essential if you bring previous experience in a commercial facility maintenance, preferably  in Hospitals.

 

Requirements

  • Must provide a National Police check conducted within the previous 12 months
  • According to the role, Ramsay Healthcare may require a Working-With-Children check and proof of immunisation against infectious diseases.

 

Remuneration

A base hourly rate under the HSU EBA of $35.50 + superannuation, based on experience level and qualifications exclusive of penalties or allowances.
