The Opportunity

In this role you will be responsible for reprocessing of reusable medical devices, including decontamination, processing, assembly, inspection, wrapping and sterilisation of reusable medical devices and medical equipment for varying clinical departments.

This role is a critical part of the sterilising process which will see you working within your team to meet the needs of the peri-op team.

Reporting to the CSSD Manager, you will work within an efficient and supportive professional team to assist the perioperative team to deliver the best care for our patients.

 

Duties may include but are not limited to;

  • Working within a team to process instruments, trays, and equipment in a timely manner
  • You will be within various allocated areas in the department.
  • You will ensure consistency and continuous workflow between the various Operating Theatre areas and CSSD whilst practising exceptional customer service and maintaining the high operational standards of the sterilisation department.

 

Skills and Experience

  • Certificate 3 qualification in Sterilising Services is desirable.
  • Prior experience working in a Sterilising Unit is desirable.
  • Your positive outlook will enable you to collaborate effectively with our team and independently as required.
  • Exceptional organisational skills
  • Strong knowledge of the principles behind AS 5369:2023 is desirable.

 

Remuneration: On offer is a base hourly rate of $30.24 - $35.53 + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances.

The Hospital

Tamara Private Hospital is a 47-bed acute medical, rehabilitation and advanced surgical hospital situated in Tamworth NSW. The Hospital provides an extensive range of medical and surgical services including a specialist Day Surgery Unit. The theatre complex consists of four operating theatres and one endoscopy room.

Requirements

  • Must provide a National Police Check conducted within the previous 12 months
