The Opportunity

We are seeking an Assistant Nurse Unit Manager to support our Medical/Surgical Ward, Close Observation and Wound Clinic at Port Macquarie Private Hospital. As a member of our clinical leadership team, you will review, plan, oversee and deliver patient care within the unit under the guidance and support of the Nurse Unit Manager. As an Assistant Nurse Unit Manager, your role consists of clinical aptitude, dynamic planning and supportive leadership to enable the nursing team to provide a high level of quality service and care to our patient population.

This role will see you:

  • Support the efficient and effective management of all human and material resources
  • Be a positive mentor and provide clinical leadership and support to the team
  • Work with and support other managers within the wider hospital community in achieving excellence in patient outcomes 

You’ll be joining a multi-disciplinary team, dedicated to ensuring our patients receive holistic individualised care. 

 

Skills and Experience

To succeed in this role, you must display strong clinical knowledge and competence within an acute surgical setting. You will hold a passion for client care and a high standard of customer-focused service in line with Ramsay's core values. You will have exceptional communication skills and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

You will also bring;

  • Relevant qualifications and Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
  • Minimum 5 years’ nursing experience in an acute setting
  • Experience within a Medical and/or surgical ward
  • Proven clinical leadership experience
  • Post graduate qualifications or working towards will be highly regarded
  • Demonstrated personal commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Requirements

  • Must provide a National Police Check conducted within the previous 12 months
