Caboolture Private Hospital is seeking a dedicated and experienced Infection Control Manager to provide leadership and support during a 6-month leave period. This vital role oversees infection prevention and control activities across the hospital, ensuring alignment with national standards and internal quality frameworks.

You will coordinate audits, deliver staff education, and serve as a key resource for infection control matters; helping to maintain a safe, high-quality environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

About the Role

Reporting to the Director of Clinical Services, you will lead and maintain the hospital’s Infection Prevention and Control Program. This includes developing strategies, monitoring compliance, and guiding staff in infection control practices across all departments.

You will act as a role model and trusted advisor, providing expert support to both clinical and non-clinical teams to minimise risks and uphold the highest standards of safety and care.

 

About You

You are a motivated and professional nurse with strong leadership skills, a commitment to excellence, and a passion for promoting best practices in infection control.

Essential Criteria:

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
  • Experience in infection prevention and control, or a strong interest in developing expertise in this area.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to act as a positive role model and promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
  • Commitment to staff education and development in infection control practices.
  • Ability to obtain or hold a Hand Hygiene Auditor Certificate.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Infection Prevention and Control (desirable but not essential).

 

Remuneration: On offer $128, 960 - $132, 392 annually + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances (4RN31 QLD Reg Nurse/Midwife Lvl3 Y1-Y4.)

Requirements

  • Must provide a National Police check conducted within the previous 12 months
