The Position

An exciting opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic and motivated Senior Speech Pathologist to join our team at Joondalup Health Campus. You will be responsible for providing a comprehensive clinical speech pathology service to an adult outpatient caseload, who present with a range of swallowing and/or communication deficits due to a range of diagnoses.

You will also be a valued leader who is able to provide student supervision and mentor other team members to advance their clinical skills.

 

Job requirements - What we are looking for

  • Tertiary qualification in speech pathology.
  • Current eligibility for membership with Speech Pathology Australia (SPA) as a practicing clinician.
  • Advanced clinical experience in assessing and managing adults presenting with swallow and communication deficits across a range of clinical areas including outpatient services and other clinical specialties.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, develop, implement and evaluate treatment programs including group programs.
  • Ability to act as a consultant in adult communication and swallowing disorders.
  • Have attained, or are working towards, credentialing in videofluoroscopic evaluation of swallowing (VFSS) and/or flexible endoscopic evaluation of swallowing (FEES) is desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and independently as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a complex environment, including excellent caseload and time management skills.
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven administrative, management and leadership skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise speech pathology students and professional staff.
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying and completing quality improvement projects in area/s of specialty.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Knowledge of, and commitment to, quality assurance and/or the accreditation process.
  • An understanding of the relevant legislation in Equal Opportunity and Occupational Health and Safety.
