About the Role
In this role you will be responsible for food preparation for patients, staff, cafeteria, and functions. You will also manage kitchen staff, ensures food quality, maintains hygiene standards, and creates menus for an exceptional dining experience.
This role reports to the Food Services Manager and works with a large, varied team.
The duties include but are not limited to;
- Cold Larder Preparation and handling of food.
- Preparation & Cooking of meals.
- Understanding of patient dietary requirements.
- Ensuring a clean environment is maintained.
- Wash & clean downs of equipment.
- Daily completion of food and safety log sheets.
- Ordering of food & supplies.
- Stock rotation.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate the following:
- Certificate in Commercial Cooking.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Chef.
- Ability to cater to a wide variety of sensitive dietary requirements.
- Must have a thorough understanding of allergy management practices.
- Ability to work in a multicultural and diverse workplace.
- Previous healthcare setting experience will be highly regarded.
Remuneration
On offer is an hourly rate ranging from $30.18 + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances.
