The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Nurse Unit Manager to lead our Oncology Team at the Western Sydney Private Oncology and Infusion Centre, located within the Westmead Specialist Centre near Westmead Private Hospital. In this key leadership role, you will work closely with oncology clinicians while ensuring the efficient management of staff and resources, delivering care that aligns with policies, procedures, and best practice standards.
Reporting to the Director of Clinical Services, you will mentor and support a passionate team of nurses and clinical support staff. This role is ideal for a motivated individual who thrives on developing others and upholding high standards of clinical care.
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will be a dynamic and supportive leader with a passion for developing your team through education, training, and skills-based learning. You hold exceptional communication skills and have the ability to inspire, motivate and mentor others.
You will also demonstrate the following:
- Relevant registration with AHPRA as Registered Nurse.
- Minimum of five years’ experience in the oncology nursing specialty
- Demonstrate experience in a leadership or management role
- Proven ability to effectively plan and manage financial, human and material resources
- Ability to plan, develop, implement and evaluate continuous improvement programs
- Ability to apply research findings to clinical practice
Highly desirable:
- Post graduate studies in nursing leadership
- Sound computer skills in MS Office suite including Excel
