The Opportunity

We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Administration Team Leader to join our team at St Andrew’s Ipswich Private Hospital. This is a fantastic opportunity to support and lead a dedicated group of Administrative Clerks.

In this role, you will provide administrative support to the NUM, Administration Manager and EMO’s of the Emergency Department. You will oversee and participate in daily operations of the Emergency reception and provide leadership to all administration staff.

As a key leader within the team, you will:

  • Provide training, guidance, and leadership to administrative staff.
  • Step into administrative roles when required.
  • Process all claims, receipts, and accounts promptly, ensuring full compliance with established policies and procedures
  • Act as a subject-matter expert for relevant systems.
  • Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and training of new staff.
  • Support roster preparation, manage sick leave, and ensure effective staff allocation to meet KPIs.
  • Maintain a high standard of customer service and confidentiality.
  • Respond to billing hub requests and ensure timely completion of certification and financial documentation to meet revenue cycle KPIs.
  • Ensure administrative processes align with clinical and hospital requirements.
  • Foster a supportive, positive, and collaborative team culture.
  • Carry out other duties as directed by the Administration Manager.

 

About You

You are professional, empathetic, and committed to delivering excellent customer service. Your ability to motivate, support, and lead your team will be key to your success in this dynamic leadership role.

You will also bring:

  • Experience managing a team, ideally within a healthcare environment.
  • Proven ability to manage individuals, work groups, and rosters for a large team.
  • Understanding of KPIs, budget requirements, and effective resource management.
  • Experience monitoring and maintaining administration-related KPIs.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to interpret and apply health fund contract requirements.
  • Commitment to achieving quality outcomes for all stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Experience using Meditech or similar patient administration systems (highly desirable).

Requirements

  • Must provide or complete a National Police Check conducted within the previous 12 months
