- Deputy Director Clinical Services - Surgical
We are seeking a dynamic leader with experience at a senior nurse management level who can meet the challenges and capably manage the operational requirements, key stakeholder relationships, and strategic direction of the inpatient surgical services, the Emergency Department, and patient flow at Hollywood Private Hospital
The Opportunity
The Deputy Director of Clinical Services – Surgical provides clinical and operational leadership, clinical workforce management and oversees governance of the inpatient wards for surgical specialties, specialist nurses, after hours managers, patient flow and discharge planning teams to support the Director of Clinical Services (DCS) and to assist Hollywood Private Hospital to meet its patient and workforce objectives.
Reporting to the DCS, and working as part of the Clinical Services Executive, this is a demanding and exacting position that involves you working closely with clinical staff, VMO’s and external partners to deliver high quality clinical care.

They will identify development opportunities and strive to continually improve patient and business outcomes whilst supporting growth.
Hollywood Private Hospital has significantly grown to become the largest hospital in WA with more than 900 licenced beds. The hospital continues to expand with 2 new angiography suites and theatres coming on line this year.

You will have the ability to work collaboratively with a broad array of stakeholders; be committed to developing people and building teams to achieve high performance and be capable of motivating people and leading them successfully through organisational change.
Key selection criteria:
- Registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia
- 3-5 years’ experience in a senior management position, leading and motivating a nursing workforce with experience in a private health care environment
- Proven experience managing clinical risk, and implementing contemporary strategies to promote high quality, safe and effective patient care
- Demonstrated knowledge of clinical governance principles and patient safety
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to foster positive working relationships with diverse groups
- Awareness of the relevant legislative requirements and governing body reporting responsibilities; and
- Demonstrated skills in workforce planning and redesign, rostering and working within budgeted work hours.
Desirable
- Masters or working towards same (Business, Health, Nursing)
- Demonstrated sound financial management and administrative skills in a hospital setting
- Demonstrated understanding of private health sector funding models
